One of my very first design exercises in portfolio school was to build a typeface. I based it on the structure of a boat (i know…). It was incredibly clunky and just plain ugly, but I remember being really proud of it because it was something I built from scratch. I recently decided to revisit this exercise expanding on the custom type I created for a client logo.

Inspired by a vintage aesthetic and roadways that wind along the Italian coastline (and aided by many more years of experience), Minimo was born.
